From the email message sent to the Save Ala Moana Beach Park Newslist, Feb. 06, 2020

Aloha Chair Menor, Vice Chair Waters, and Council Members Kobayashi, Elefante and Manahan,

Mahalo nui loa for your support and leadership in adopting CM Kobayashi’s CD1 to Resolution 20-21 at today’s Zoning Committee meeting, removing the dog park, playground and reconfigured parking on the mauka side of Ala Moana Park Drive. 

We are grateful that you made time to hear from us, not only in council, but via private meetings, on the phone or by reading our emails and testimonies. You have a challenging job trying to do what’s best for the citizens you serve amidst so many conflicting interests. 

Today’s council action was a giant step forward towards finally addressing the wishes of the people regarding “The People’s Park” to keep it clean and green–keeping the local character of the park to be enjoyed for generations to come.   Please let us know how we can assist you in seeing this resolution to completion!
